Not that he watches TV before work anyway..

This morning's conversation with the significant other:

"What are you watching?"

"The Bodyguard."

"That's such a cheesy f-ing movie."

"Well, it's either that or infomercials."

"Let's watch infomercials."

"Go make breakfast, jerk."

In Spirit of the Holiday..

I thought this post on craigslist was hilarious, so I absolutely HAD to share it today, of all days.

To the Stoner Who Works At Cottage Inn Pizza

You: the guy who answers the phone at cottage inn pizza

Me: Hungry and stoned out of my gourd

I called you from my cell phone but had completely forgot who I was calling by the time you answered the phone. Of course, you were also baked to bajeezus and forgot to tell me that I had called Cottage Inn.

When you answered and said, “Whatsup?” I thought about it, and after a 20 second pause I told you that was hungry. You suggested I try a pizza, and I agreed that it was probably a good idea.

Then I asked you if you sold pizza and you said that you could make me one. I said I wanted anchovies and something else on my pizza. You asked me what that something else was.

We spent five minutes listing toppings until we figured out that I was trying to remember how to say: “Sun dried Tomatoes.” When you said: “We'll bake that right up for you,” we both started laughing uncontrollably.
It was the best pizza I ever had; I just wanted to thank you for helping me out.

Happy 4/20.

It's not that complicated!

If you're going to play April Fools jokes on me, don't try to trick me to my face. I can read you.

If you MUST try, just change my clocks from AM to PM. That's enough to screw anyone up.. like I did to you last year. And the year before.

People never learn..

In spirit of the "holiday", check out the Top 100 April Fools' Day Hoaxes of All Time.

New to Vox.

I signed up for a Vox blog today, just because I thought it could be the right community to push my music and other art into. I don't plan on doing anything cool with it right now, but I'll definitely be investing some time into it later on.

Check it out.

It really wasn't my idea to grab Vanessa's boob.. I have my boys to thank for that one. This was near the end of the night, so I was too far gone to care.. I look terrible! lol

Those Hippies Knew How to Party

I came across a great article today- Dancing Naked in the Corn. Woodstock was way before my time, but I can relate to the whole festival experience- people coming together, the music, the parties..

Three interesting Woodstock facts (from the article):

  • A hit of Acid or Mescaline cost $4 and an ounce of Marijuana cost $15.
  • Only 33 people were arrested on drugs charges yet 500 freaked out on bad LSD trips.
  • 450 cows mixed freely with the campers for 3 days.

Wild.

Plug-in air fresheners are (not so) dangerous..

* * Edit: Damn, I'm a sucker for all sorts of info, FALSE stuff included.. Thanks to Nathan Pralle for this link. * *

So I received this email today about house fires and air fresheners..

I'm sure many fires have been caused by plug-in air fresheners over the years due to disregard for general safety procedures with outlets, so it probably could happen, but no, not without a little help.

The email:

A man and his wife learned a hard lesson this week.

Their house burnt down.. nothing left but ashes. They have good insurance so the house will be replaced and most of the contents. That is the good news.

However, they were sick when they found out the cause of the fire. The insurance investigator sifted through the ashes for several hours. He had the cause of the fire traced to the master bathroom. He asked her sister-in-law what she had plugged in the bathroom. She listed the normal things....curling iron, blow dryer. He kept saying to her, 'No, this would be something that would disintegrate at high temperatures'. Then her sister-in-law remembered she had a Glade Plug-In, in the bathroom.

The investigator had one of those 'Aha' moments. He said that was the cause of the fire. He said he has seen more house fires started with the plug-in type room fresheners than anything else. He said the plastic they are made from is THIN. He also said that in every case there was nothing left to prove that it even existed. When the investigator looked in the wall plug, the two prongs left from the plug-in were still in there.

Her sister-in-law had one of the plug-ins that had a small night light built in it. She said she had noticed that the light would dim and then finally go out. She would walk into the bathroom a few hours later, and the light would be back on again. The investigator said that the unit was getting too hot, and would dim and go out rather than just blow the light bulb. Once it cooled down it would come back on. That is a warning sign.

The investigator said he personally wouldn't have any type of plug-in fragrance device anywhere in his house. He has seen too many places that have been burned down due to them.

* * Again, the info in this email is false. * *

I'll definitely be forwarding this link to the person who sent the email. If you receive something similar, you might want to pass it along, too.

What to do?

What do you do when you're stuck in one place, living above 'tenants' that make you miserable?

The catch is, they're the landlord's family and are taking advantage of her, and she doesn't want to see it, let alone manage the issue, and it's hurting everyone.. No apartments that allow pets are available within our price range. And I am unable to pick up another job.

How do you deal with such a situation?

And how do you keep your composure when things get ridiculously stupid?

Megadeth and Cristina Scabbia?

Megadeth and the Lacuna Coil frontwoman collaborated for "A Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free)". Great song, but this is a big change for Cristina.. Wow. I really can't say whether I love it or hate it just yet.

TMI Tuesday #3

1. Which one turns you on more ink or piercing? Why?
I'm not sure.. I think I like ink more, but piercings are fun (lol!).

2. What ink do you have? If none, what would you get and and where?
I will be getting a small pentagram on my right shoulder with something meaningful written in Latin around it as soon as I find the right tattoo artist.. I'm picky and want it done right.

3. What piercing do you have? If none, what would you get and and where?
Over the past few years, I've had holes all through my ears and tongue and eyebrows. I stick to about five small hoops in my ears most days, maybe less, maybe more.. it depends on the day and occasion.

4. Any other adornments you like to do for your lover or have then do for you?
I've considered getting my nipples pierced a few times, but I'm really not sure if that's a pain I want to endure. I do have a scar on my foot (it's for me, not for a lover) in the shape of a pentagram that marked the end of my self destructive habits and turning to my 'spiritual side' for strength in overcoming severe depression.

5. Of all of the above is there anything that is an immediate Turn-Off?
No way! As long as they're not overdone..

Blog Review at Inspirit

Abhi reviewed IGTB at Inspirit last week, and I'm pleased with it overall. (Honestly, I was expecting a lower score! lol)

Surprisingly (or not so much?), the suggestions he made were exactly what I've been slowly trying to fix- the placement of the search bar and changing my Feedburner counter to different color. I actually had them placed where he suggested before their current positions, but it just didn't look right with the rest of the template, so I moved them to where they are now (and at the time of the review). I must agree it still looks a little off, but I'll be tweaking the template again this weekend (if I can find enough time). I have a couple ideas that may work.. I must say Typepad isn't quite as flexible with templates as I'd like it to be. But it provides everything else I need, so I can't complain too much. It's great for bloggers who don't have much time to bother with all the complexities.

And yes, I have some tweaking to do with that damn "About" column and the general column width. That irks me the most.. but again, as soon as I get some free time, I'll be playing with it again and trying to straighten it all out.

Thanks again, Abhi!

IGTB is Blog of the Day on Fuelmyblog!

IGTB was featured on yet another social media front page yesterday- this time as Blog of the Day on Fuelmyblog.

I loaded up the front page this morning and WHABAM! there I was, staring back at myself. What a surprise!

I can't even begin to explain how I feel about IGTB's sudden popularity "explosion" this week. It's great to see my articles faring pretty well on various social media sites and gaining more feed subscribers. These are the kind of things that tell a blogger that his or her efforts are beginning to pay off..

What puzzles me is the fact that IGTB isn't even four months old yet and I'm not a frequent publisher.. So maybe there's hope for the part-time bloggers out there?
